Home Theater Furniture TipsJ D DeanSo you have your home theater room set up. By this, I mean you have a television set, surround sound speakers, DVD player and possibly even a projector. But you are thinking..."something is missing!" Where are you going to sit? What are you going to rest your drink on? Why do the walls look so bare? Home theater furniture...that's it!
What exactly is home theater furniture? Well, it's anything you want it to be. A comfortable lounge, maybe a sofa, coffee table, side tables, popcorn machine or picture memorabilia to adourn the walls. You could be even thinking lighting... home theater lighting to give your room that added theater feel. This is the time to be creative so it may be time to see if your better half has calmed down yet and can make some creative input. Home theater furniture includes any element of furniture from tables to chairs that can be an addition to your home theater set up. So, adding some snack trays can be a nice little addition to help give your home that “old school” theater vibe. Some people include old-fashioned movie posters or other artifacts from another era to add a new mood to a familiar room. The sky is the limit when you are choosing what you want to add and what type of a room you want to create. Think Outside The Square! Creativity really is the most important aspect to designing your home theater. The home theater furniture is only the tip of the iceberg, so be sure to get inventive with all of your selections. Home theater furniture can include actual movie theater style seats or rowed recliner seats, all of which are available in any color and most fabrics from leather to microfiber. Be sure to actually sit in the seat before you decide to buy it and compare with other seating plans as to how it feels. The most important part of your home theater arrangement is comfort. Finally, don’t be afraid to take a few risks. I have seen home theater setups with popcorn makers and a fully functioning bar built right into the same room. This makes for an authentic and unique experience to be enjoyed by all of your family and friends. Spending money on home theater furniture is an investment that can last a lifetime. The entertainment value, of course, can last even longer. Remember, while being creative can sound expensive, home theater furniture doesn't have to be expensive, particularly if you are a prudent shopper. You'll be amazed at what you can pick up online, via the newspaper classifieds or by waiting for those big department store sales. |
